Fitness bands, the new it item.

There are a lot of new and exciting activity trackers in the form of  fitness  bands .   Two of  the products that have been drawing a lot of attention are the FitBit Flex and the Jawbone Up.  What’s so great about them,  and what are the differences ?

FitBit Flex Fitness Bands

The Flex is just one of the thin stylish fitness bands that comes in variety of colors.  It tracks steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, hours and quality of sleep.  It also serves as an alarm that vibrates gently and silently at your desired wake up time.  This device is water resistant and has small LED lights that show your progress through out the day.  Flex is able to sync wireless to some PC,  Apple, and Android devices so that you can track your progress.  Cost for the Flex is $100.

Jawbone Up Fitness Bands

The Up band also comes in a stylish design and variety of colors as well.  It also records step taken, distance traveled, calories burned, food intake, sleep and reminds you to move when you have been inactive for too long.  Like the Flex this is also water resistant and comfortable to wear day and night.  To sync you would have remove one end and plug into PC or smart phone.  Cost for the UP is $130

Both of these come with some cool online apps and tools that let you record your food and drink  intake as well as exercises.  They also work well with other weight loss apps like My Fitness Pal, Lose It, Run Keeper and more.
